We have 2 Singer sewing machines that have bobbin problems and are quirky at times. I would like to diagnose the problems and fix them at home. Anyone have any ideas or links that might help? Thanks!

You should learn how to fix a sewing machine because you like to sew, because it’s easy, and because you can’t sew if your machine is not working correctly! I can tell you honestly. Learning how to fix a sewing machine is extremely easy.
I too was one of those people that are intimidated by the mechanics of a machine until… I ended up paying a repairman $239.00 for fixing my machine! I mean, that was just a complete rip off!
I was so upset when that happened that I vowed to learn how to fix a sewing machine if it was the last thing I did! And what do you know? It worked!
I used a repair guide and learned how to fix my machines following really easy to understand steps. The guide even had illustrations and diagrams so it made it that much more easily to follow the instructions.
I was extremely surprised to see how quickly I was able to learn how to fix my machine. I actually regretted not having learned earlier so that I could have saved the couple of hundred dollars that I ended up wasting on the repairman! But, you live, you learn and I guess it had to happen to lead me to realize that it was a waste of money to have someone else fix my own machine when I could have done it myself!
